Kathryn
Awde

Kathryn
discovered the benefits of Low Intensity Laser Therapy for pain
relief after she received treatment for a severe whiplash injury
sustained in 1991. As a result of her personal success she
brought the Bioflex™ laser system to London in an effort to help
people in a painless, effective and low cost manner.
After graduating from the
University of Western Ontario in 1973 with a B.A. in Computer
Science, Kathryn worked in several offices, including the
University of Western Ontario Computer Science Department, 3M
and Beaver Lumber (head office). Kathryn has over 20 years
experience working as a Business Manager with a London Family
Physician.
Kathryn is a member
of Beta Sigma Phi Int., The Garden Club of London and a board
member of The Heritage London Foundation.
Dr.
Murray Awde
M.D.,
L.M.C.C., C.C.F.P., F.C.F.P., C.B., C.L.T - Medical Director
Dr. Murray Awde is the
Medical Director to the Laser Approach Inc. He is Adjunct
Professor of Family Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine,
University of Western Ontario and is a McMaster University post
graduate facilitator coordinating post graduate education in
Southwestern Ontario.
Dr. Awde is a family doctor
who has practiced medicine in London for over thirty years. He is
Past President of the London and District Academy of Medicine.
He was a Coroner for the province of Ontario for fifteen years.
As medical director to a large physiotherapy centre in London,
Dr. Awde is knowledgeable in all aspects of acute and chronic
musculoskeletal problems.
Dr. Awde has done extensive
research in osteoarthritis and published an article on arthritis
in December 2000 that is used to teach other physicians.
Dr. Awde is trained for
laser pain management and laser for cosmetic enhancements. He
is one of a very few physicians in Canada with significant laser
experience throughout all spectrums of light. He will use these
clinical skills and experience when interacting with the staff
at The Laser Approach Inc.
Karen
Hobden - B.Sc., RPT, Certified Laser Therapist,
Keep Canada Slim Consultant

Karen
is the senior laser therapist at The Laser Approach. She has
been an advocate for self improvement for many years and
believes in individual empowerment. For the past 12 years she
has been assisting people to manage their stress, pain, smoking
addictions and self esteem through complementary methods. These
include low intensity laser therapy, laser acupoints,
Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, meditation, and the promotion of
healthy lifestyles.
Karen has a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biology and
Physics from Laurentian University. She has also studied Reiki
and Therapeutic Touch and has achieved certification as a Keep
Canada Slim weight loss and healthy living consultant.
Melissa Bézaire B.Sc., Registered
Massage Therapist
Certified Laser Therapist
Melissa has a great
appreciation for the affects of both massage and laser therapy,
having benefited from both in the treatment of an acute injury.
After completing her
biology and mathematics degree at Wilfred Laurier University,
Melissa pursued her diploma in massage therapy at the Canadian
College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Cambridge. Upon
graduating in 2007, she received awards recognizing her academic
achievement and participation in community outreaches. She has
since collaborated with naturopathic doctors, chiropractors, and
physiotherapists in providing patients with personalized
treatments.
Melissa has a special
interest in women's health, including pre-and post-natal
massage, breast health, and infant massage instruction. With an
attentive and caring approach, she hopes to assist people of all
ages in their pursuit of optimal health.
